Delegation of Employment Security Bureau of Japan Visits İŞKUR

The Delegation headed by Mr. Masahiko Yamada, the Director General of Employment Security Bureau of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (WHLW) of Japan made a study visit to İŞKUR on July 2-3, 2024 in order to share information and experience.

On the first day of the programme, the Delegation visited Mr. Samet Güneş, the Director General of İŞKUR. During the visit, Mr. Güneş and Mr. Yamada signed a cooperation protocol including studies on inter-institutional cooperation activities. During the signing ceremony, Mr. Güneş emphasised the importance of the cooperation between the employment agencies of the two countries on the centenary of the beginning of diplomatic relations between Türkiye and Japan, and drew attention to the benefits of sharing information and experience between the agencies. Mr. Yamada mentioned that the protocol would enable cooperation between the agencies with regard to issues especially such as digital service provision and employment policies for aging population.

The meeting presided by Mr. Engin Akyol, the Deputy Director General of İŞKUR started after the protocol signature ceremony and employment experts made a detailed presentation about the general organisation of İŞKUR, labour market data of Türkiye, employment, job and vocational counselling, services for disabled people, active and passive labour services and ongoing projects. Afterwards, Japanese delegation provided information about Japanese labour market and the activities of Employment Security Bureau.

On the second day of the programme, Japanese delegation visited Sincan Service Centre and job club to see the services provided by İŞKUR on site and received detailed information from the authorities.  Afterwards, the delegation visited a company with which İŞKUR cooperates within the scope of active labour force programmes and was informed about the company's cooperation with İŞKUR.

The visit concluded with discussions to strengthen cooperation between the agencies and determine a roadmap for the activities to be carried out in the upcoming period.
