İŞKUR Delegation Visited German Federal Employment Agency
Upon the invitation of Andea Nahles, Chair of the Executive Board of the German Federal Employment Agency, a delegation consisting of Engin Akyol, the Deputy Director General of the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR), and Employment Experts Eser Erol and Kamuran Coşar paid a study visit to Germany between 16-18 September 2024.
On the first day of the visit, the İŞKUR delegation visited the Consul General of Nuremberg Fatma Taşan Cebeci in her office. Cebeci stated her appreciation for the delegation's visit to Nuremberg and drew attention to the importance of İŞKUR's cooperation with counterpart institutions in Germany.
The Delegation visited the German Federal Employment Agency on the second day. In the opening session of the visit, Ms. Vanesse Ahuja, a member of the Board of Directors of the Federal Employment Agency, emphasised the importance of experience sharing with İŞKUR regarding the integration of immigrants and stated that it would be beneficial to increase the cooperation between the institutions.
Mr. Akyol, the Deputy Director General of İŞKUR, emphasises that Türkiye has hosted many civilizations throughout the history and has been at the centre of a large migration movement in recent years with this cultural heritage. Mr. Akyol stated that the country has not only opened its doors to immigrants but also developed comprehensive policies to make them a part of society. Akyol also stated that practical training programs were organized with the aim of increasing the employability of both Turkish citizens and Syrians under Temporary Protection (GKAS) through the Project for Supporting Transition to the Labour Market (İSDEP 2) implemented by İŞKUR.
Following the opening speeches, Employment Expert Eser Erol provided information on İŞKUR activities and projects carried out for Syrians under Temporary Protection. Experts from various departments of the German Federal Employment Agency also made presentations on the institution’s activities for migrants.
On the third day of the visit, İŞKUR delegation was informed about the services provided and projects carried out for the integration of immigrants in the programme organised at the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF).
As a result of the consultations aimed at strengthening the cooperation between the institutions and increasing joint working areas, the study visit ended.
