Our Minister: “We Provided Approximately 12 Billion Liras of Support through New Generation Incentive Application”

Mrs. Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk, the Minister of Family, Labour and Social Services stated that within the scope of New Generation Incentive Application, they provided premium support to workplaces operating in IT and manufacturing sectors considered as professions of future.

The Minister stated that with the incentive application, between 01/01/2018 and 31/12/2020 especially in IT and manufacturing sectors, including all other sectors, insurance premiums support had been provided and covered for each employee to be employed among the unemployed registered to Turkish Employment Agency. Although the period of benefiting from the incentive is 12 months, we make affirmative action to increase the labour force participation of groups requiring special policies and in this context, we offer the opportunity for women, young people between the ages of 18-25 and the disabled insurance holders to benefit from the incentive for 18 months. In this context, Mrs. Selçuk said, “We transferred 12 billion liras of insurance premiums incentive for approximately 732 thousand insurance holders and 249 thousand workplaces between January 2018 and June 2020.”

Stating that they focused on courses and programmes to raise qualified workforce in IT and manufacturing sectors, Mrs. Selçuk remarked that between January 2018 and July 2020, 464 thousand people had benefited from the courses and programmes organised in IT and manufacturing sectors.

Stating that the Ministry provided incentives in many items to support employment in working life, our Minister Mrs. Selçuk noted that they increased the labour force participation rate from 44,9 percent in 2005 to 53 percent in 2019.  Mrs. Selçuk informed that approximately 3.2 million people had been employed in private sectors since 2018, particularly through İŞKUR.
