The Minister, Mrs. Selçuk: “We have transferred 4.6 billion Turkish Liras to our vocational training programme in the last two years”
Mrs. Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk, the Minister of Family, Labour and Social Services stated that in the last two years, 4.6 billion Turkish Lira was transferred to Active Labour Programmes facilitating the employment of young people, women and the disabled.
Mrs. Selçuk made statements about incentives given within the scope of Social Protection Shield in the last two years by the Ministry to many people, from young people to women, from the disabled to entrepreneurs.
Mrs. Selçuk said, “We ensure the sustainable employment of particularly young people, women and the disabled with models such as On-the-job Training Programmes, Vocational Training Courses and Entrepreneurship Training Courses. We increase their knowledge and skills through these programmes. We have transferred 4.6 billion TL for 1.1 million people since July 2018.”
Stating that they were in endeavour to prepare young people for future in a strong way, our Minister said that Social Work Programme was implemented to increase their awareness particularly in social issues. Mrs. Selçuk stated that thanks to the programme, 20 thousand students were introduced to labour market for the first time last year and the government covered their insurance premiums.
Stating that they believed in the entrepreneurial spirit of young people and offered a strong incentive in this context, Mrs. Selçuk emphasized that when young people between the ages of 18-29 were included in the scope of Bağ-Kur for the first time; the government covered their insurance premiums. Mrs. Selçuk noted that more than 721 million TL of support was provided for 58 thousand young entrepreneurs between 2018 and 2020.
