WAPES 12th World Congress Held in Estonia

The 12th World Congress of the World Association of Public Employment Services (WAPES) was held between April 25 and 29, 2022 in Tallinn-Estonia. Our Director General Mr. Oğuz Kağan Güldoğan, Deputy Director General Ms. Pürnur Altay, Acting Head of the Department of Foreign Relations and Projects Mr. Oğuzhan Küpeli and Employment Expert Ms. Begüm Kandemir participated in the World Congress of the Association, of which our Agency has been a member since 2003 and chaired between 2015 and 2018.

On the first day of the Congress, during the general assembly meeting aiming to elect the new Association President and the Managing Board Members  for the 2022-2025 term, İŞKUR delegation on behalf of our Country participated in the votings  for  selection of the new members  as well as the approval of previous activities of the Association.

On the second and third days of the Congress, a series of panel and country presentations were held under the theme of "Challenges and Innovative Actions for Public Employment Services in the Fast-Developing Labour Market". These sessions provided the opportunity of follow-up of global agenda and access to detailed information regarding the innovative practices for labour market and the activities of public employment services.

In conclusion, İŞKUR delegation had the chance to meet with representatives of  numerous public employment services  from different parts of the world exchanging information  that could lead to developing new partnerships through current practices in the upcoming period.
